Ever since the advent of the internet into our lives, interaction has changed on a global level and things are not done the same way as it was before. And so have the way casino games are played nowadays from home comfort at the click of a mouse coast to coast. If you were used to playing the usual variety of popular casino games like slots, poker, baccarat, roulette, blackjack and many more, you can find a wide array of variants that are exciting enough to trigger the gaming passions of the newbie to gambling.

Technological leaps in gaming and improved software

Much of the thrill and entertainment promised by online gaming sites in recent years has been possible due to the leaps in internet casino technology. Improved state of the art gaming software has made realistic fun possible bang into homes coast to coast.

To play your favorite casino games like blackjack, you need not have to drive down long distances to find a place at a land based casino table. By just logging in from home, you can play the game at the click of a mouse.

With a surge in online gaming activities, the American casino buff is also not feeling left behind even though there are bans still in place in some federal states. The earlier Bush administration banned internet related gaming activities and online money transfers forcing players coast to coast to look for casinos elsewhere in the world that welcomed players from the US.

Apart from Canada and Ireland, there are very few casinos that accept US players due to the ban in internet money transfers in some of the states.

Blackjack, roulette, live dealer, video and TV poker

But the ban has not dimmed the urge to be a part of the swelling gaming circuit on the internet. Everyone wants to experience realistic casino feel and mood from home these days and the passion is not restricted to the seasoned or hard core gambler. If playing at land based casinos was the norm earlier, it is the internet gaming sites that are drawing in players these days.

More and more players are signing up to play their favorite casino games with a real money account and experience first rate entertainment thanks to latest online casino technologies.

Live dealer blackjack and roulette, video poker, TV poker and a lot more upfront gaming experiences are making the online version a treat for players worldwide. Your best bet would be to check out the site and study the reviews to get a hang of what you exactly want in terms of entertainment and fun.

Primarily, players are careening toward online casinos as they are lured by the lucrative bonuses and cash prizes that are loaded up and updated regularly. Chances of participation in poker tournaments are also easy through the online route and free of cost. Recent phenomenal wins by online gaming pros have ratcheted up the interest.

Blackjack requires some strategies and the charts require committing to memory. But it is also the simplest of all casino games and is the primary reason why popularity among first time gamblers has surged in recent years. Playing your favorite blackjack game from home at the click of a mouse is easy these days and the strategies to turn the game in your favor are adopted by players coast to coast. But, there are certain strategies that you should avoid while paying blackjack on the internet.

Don’t lose the chance of a knockout

Following the dealer blindfolded is a primary flaw in strategy that many players forget when they play blackjack. You cannot emulate the dealer and replicate all his or her moves and succeed. If you are following this strategy, then it is time you followed a counter strategy as this one won’t work. Most players try to do as the dealer does like not splitting, doubling down and surrendering hands and hitting on 16 and below.

By doing this, they leave out other strategies and tools like double down play and allow the gaming site to have a better advantage.

If you pit yourself against the dealer, you would realize you stand a better chance to bust the dealer. In blackjack, the dealer plays last and all the while it is you who is at an advantage in all the rounds. By following the dealer, you would lose the chance of knocking yourself out before the dealer.

Another strategy that players can avoid while playing blackjack is hitting only when they are dealt a hand of 11 or less. Usually, players feel that this method will save them from going bust, but it has been seen that in most cases, this strategy also doesn’t work.

Get more advantage from the house

These are some of the common tips and strategies wrongly followed by first time gamblers when they play on the internet. Even during practice with freely downloadable games, you can try out alternative strategies so that you can stick to them playing with real money.

By fine tuning the strategies and not following the dealer blindly, you can get some more advantage from the house. The more edge you get the more would be your winning chances. And if you keep losing out after following the dealer every round, you might end up losing interest in the game of online blackjack.

Your best bet for ratcheting up your winning chances in blackjack would be to memorize tables, charts and statistics as much as possible in all the blackjack games. You can search online for some casino where updated information is available about all the strategies used by different players on that gaming site.

For every hand you need to identify the odds and know if they are in your favor or against you. You can also get some flashcards done to help you with the stats and charts and make way for a better performance when you play blackjack.

Deck_Of_CardsA lot has changed in the online casino industry over the last few years. We have had the ongoing difficulties with bans and regulation in different countries with the most high profile example being in the United States. Added to this, there have also been a few high profile example of badly run online casinos that have managed to make their way in to the mainstream media.

There is also now a much wider array of different games available from online casinos. From branded slots to spruced up versions of older games and even newly invented games although I would have to say that these new games for the most part are simply variations on older games with new twists and names.

In spite of all of this the game of blackjack is becoming more rather than less popular. The market share for the game online has actually been growing this year. So, whatever happens in the broader online casino market in t he coming months and years, it would seem that the game of blackjack has a bright online future no matter what.

Capitol_BuildingThe entire online casino industry has a curious relationship with authorities. On the one hand, the industry is profitable and an easy target for heavy taxation. This makes it very attractive to the finance departments of governments all over the world.

This point becomes even more true in the context of the current recession where governments all over the world have seen tax revenues dwindle and are left with very few options as to how to raise more money.

On the other hand governments do not wish to bee seen to be courting the industry. There are a lot of votes in the “family values” business and online casinos are not seen as particularly wholesome by quite a number of the family values crowd.

This has left many politicians in this very uncomfortable limbo where they would like to invite the casino industry around for afternoon tea but just as long as they don’t use the front door when they arrive.

The message from governments to the the industry seems to be “we would like to meet you in a motel somewhere but we won’t be bringing you home to meet mother” :)

handshakeI think everybody knows at this stage that the online casino industry is very competitive. There are a lot of casinos out there and they are all trying to come up with innovative ways to bring in new customers.

One particular tactic is the co-branding of games with well known brands from other spheres. The Cryptologic line of game based on the Marvel Comics characters would be a fairly good example of this.

So why is this practice so popular with online casinos? There area actually a lot of smaller reasons but let’s take a quick look at two of the big ones.

In marketing speak there is a term called “brand reflection” or “brand association”. The concept here is to associate your product with an already recognized and trusted brand. The logic goes that a certain amount of the good reputation that the other brand has will become attached to your product by association.

The other big advantage is publicity. The press release and publicity splash is a big part of any deal like this and it gives both companies an excuse to get their names out there in the media. Advertising is very expensive so anything that can create press buzz is worth investing in because if it goes well, what it will finish up costing could be a lot less than equivalent advertising would have cost.

GavelIt seems that the Indiana Court Of Appeals made a very interesting ruling last Friday. The court ruled that the Grand Victoria Casino had no right to ban Thomas Donovan from the casino even after he had openly admitted to card counting.

There is a normal right of businesses to remove patrons from their premises without giving a specific reason but apparently in Indiana in the case of casinos this is superseded by what the court described as the state’s “comprehensive scheme for regulating riverboat gambling”.

I wouldn’t head for Vegas just yet to try to break the house but it is interesting to see something like this challenged in a formal manner.

The rules governing this area in land based casinos have always been a little on the vague and sketchy side which has allowed great leeway to be used by the casinos.

Whether this ruling is a turning point in clarifying this whole area remains to be seen but it is nonetheless a very interesting development.

Money_CoinsWhen people are deciding what online casino to play at there is a tendency to focus on what kind of sign up and deposit bonuses are on offer. There is certainly no harm in taking a look at what is available but if you start making decisions based on this information alone, now that is really not a good idea at all!

The online casino industry is an extremely competitive one and as a result of this many operators offer big deposit bonuses in an effort to bring in new customers.

Again, there is nothing inherently wrong with this and it has become very much a standard throughout the industry. In fact, we offer what we would consider to be excellent bonuses here.

The key is that you have to take other factors into account as well. If you don’t, you will simply spend your time running around from one online casino to the next.

The moral of the story? Bonuses are good, great bonuses are great, but, there are a lot of other factors that go into the making of a great online casino as well.

Technology_AdvanceOne of the big areas of growth that has been experienced in online blackjack recently is multi-hand blackjack. This is always something that experienced players have been interested in and this version of the game has been available ay many online casinos for quite some time now.

As with many things on the Internet, the difficulty lay in the fact that the technology had not quite caught up with the concepts.

With the advanced in computer speeds and more importantly broadband speeds, this difficulty is not something that hinders the player experience any longer.

A comparison here could be drawn with online video. The idea and the desire has been around for ages but technical limitations hampered these ambitions for a long time.

Rather than a big launch scenario, these problems simply became less of a hurdle over time and have allowed for the emergence of sites like Youtube and many others.

The trajectory of multi-hand blackjack online has followed a somewhat similar course. So am I suggesting that our site here is the Youtube of multi-hand blackjack? Well, I’m not quite that cheeky but if it is something you are interested in then I would definitely suggest that you might want to check it out.

jack1Why is there so much growth in the playing of blackjack on the Internet? I would like to think that it is just a matter of how good our casino is and how friendly our staff are but there is probably just a little bit more to it than that.

:)

A few days ago I took a look at one of the main and often overlooked reasons as to why this is the case. While I believe that’s one of the main reasons there are obviously others as well.

When it comes to hanging out with friends, poker always tends to have been the game of choice. Because of it’s nature, it’s a more suitable game for that type of social environment. While blackjack has always been popular in casinos, it did not have that kind of traction in a social environment.

The rise of online casinos has changed all this and brought blackjack into the social realm in a way that was not previously possible.

Another factor that has been very helpful is that the basic of blackjack are very easy to learn. Learning the finer points of strategy to become an expert takes time and training but picking up the basics so that you can play a few hands is very easy.

These are very simple reasons but like many things the reasons themselves for any particular thing occurring are usually simple, it’s the combination of them that can be a bit trickier to figure out.

Stack_Of_ChipsThe online casino industry as a whole is large, stable, growing and here to stay. All of these descriptions have enough evidence to back them up that it would not be a stretch to say that they are facts rather than opinions.

Anybody with even a fleeting or tangential connection to the industry either in a work capacity or consumer capacity knows that this is the case.

The Internet has matured beyond all expectations in its short life and so too has the online casino industry.

So, why is it that the mainstream media still regularly treats the industry like a fad or something that might be a bit dodgy?

Well, there are a number of possible reasons that we could look at but there is one that is so blatant and obvious that I am very surprised that it is not discussed more.

To illustrate the point I would like to make, let’s take a quick look at a massive milestone for the commercial Internet. A few days ago the commercial Internet finally went mainstream in the U.K.

Lat week it was announced that Internet advertising spend overtook television advertising spend for the very first time in a major western economy. This is something that will probably be looked back on a historical turning point yet the information got very little mainstream media coverage.

So why was there so little coverage? The answer is one of the most basic yet potent human emotions, fear!

Mainstream media are in crisis, the Internet is destroy their revenue streams and nobody has any idea about how to stop it. This is the primary reason that they report anything to do with the Net with a played-down and quirky slant.

The information is there so they cannot ignore it but they don’t want to feature it either. The default position in a situation like this is to give an editorial slant to lessen the impact.

The online casino industry also get tarred with this slant whenever newspapers and television have anything to say about it. Unless the news is negative of course, then they can go to town!

When viewed through this prism it is actually quite easy to understand how a stable and growing industry has gained a mainstream media profile that is completely divorced from reality. You don’t have to actually tell lies to mislead people, you know.
